Each Week The Carlsbad Channel will be featuring Films about the Old West. Some will be great Western Movies and others will be historical in nature. They will tell the stories of the region, the cattle industry. Watch them as streaming video, save them, or burn them to DVD.  Most of these films are found nowhere else. The films with a viewer are playable with just a click of the play button on the embeded viewer.

Lumberjack   Hopalong Cassidy

Julie's husband has been murdered and land agents want her to sign away her property rights. Hoppy warns against this but she does so anyway. It looks as though she will be unable to deliver the timber called for in her agreement. Hoppy has to make the lumber deal happened and solve the murder. HE'S A RARIN,  TEARIN' FOOL! Hoppy really goes to town with guns blazing and fists swinging in this rapid-fire western that'll have you whistling!

 

 

Border Patrol  Hopalong Cassidy

Hoppy, California and Johnny join up with their friends from south of the border in order to break up an operation that smuggles illegal aliens from Mexico into the U.S. to work as slaves. Produced by Harry Sherman. Hoppy, California and Johnny are Texas Rangers trying to end a scheme which smuggles Mexicans into the United States to become essentially slaves in a silver mine owned by Orestes Krebs. The three are captured, sentenced to hang, and then escape. They free the slaves and capture the bad guys.B&W. Running Time: 65 mins

Outlaw, The - Howard Hughes
Scandalous for it's time, "The Outlaw" directed by Howard Hughes, is the story of Billy the Kid, Doc Holiday, and Pat Garrett. The plot is thin at best, but we are introduced to a 22 year old Jane Russell which makes the film almost worthwhile.
